baby update

baby boy still measures larger than "normal".  the due date might be brought forward a month, like at the end of june instead of july.  another 3-d ultrasound will be scheduled.  our trip to ohio might be sooner than we expected!

baby update...

mom says: "26 week 3D scans, the little man loves to have his feet and hands in his face." 

for some reason, i couldn't lift the scans from her facebook page.  what cool 3-d images!  it's amazing.  when i was pregnant with my daughter, ultrasounds were only necessary when there was a potential problem.  i never got one!

baby update

baby boy is bigger than "usual" at 2.5 pounds.  this is about 1 pound larger than "normal".  he is in the 89th percentile.  during the 3-d ultrasound, baby boy moved around quite a bit and even put his hands and legs in front of his face.  mom thinks this baby is just going to be bigger than all of her others.

i told my daughter that her great great grandma on her dad's side of the family gave birth to very big babies, like in the teens...maybe something like 14 or 15 pounds!  that's alot of baby!

my daughter says that she will buy only one package of number 1 diapers, and she will bring a couple of differently-sized outfits for the ride home.

mom developed pregnancy induced asthma, which i had never heard of.  besides that, mom and baby are doing well, and the due date remains at july 31st.

i wll be a grandma again...

my daughter will be having her 8th child around july 31, 2013...

this time, i won a $50 gift certificate from emma's paperie.  i am such the lucky one!  i am in the process of spending it, and when it comes in, i will share pictures of that, too.

i ordered mostly paper...about an inch stacked.  it isn't possible to photograph all of it.

it's been fun!

this year, i hope to make something more than cards.  lately, i have been thinking about playing with solder and microscope slides.  time to clear the table of card-making supplies!

holiday tag

i made this tag for entry into graphic 45 and paper crafts connection.  it was difficult taking a picture today so an explanation is in order: notice at the top of the tag there are 3 ab snowflakes and along the right side is "season's greetings" stamped on vellum with staz-on olive.

the card is really off white.  there is a cut-out where the medallion is part of the inside of the card, too.  a paper flower is in the center.  notice that "sweet friend" is on the bottom right.  this paper is "butterfly collection" actually won on this blog!

the square of this card is woven from paper that had been randomly sprayed with tattered angel mists.  the leaves were punched from the same paper.  this paper was originally a backdrop for another project and never intended for this one.  i pulled it out of the trash!  this card is sparkly, but i think that it has been lost in the scanning process.

my take on the challenge:

we are planning to move somewhere...

so we are packing...

we don't know where we are going, but we know we are going.

my partner, katie, has been teaching at brunswick community college in supply, nc.  she is fairly certain that she can return for the fall semester.  she taught there spring semester and was off for the summer.  while she was teaching, she was renting a room from some folks, and she doesn't want to do that again.  she would rather we all be together...her, me, all of the cats and our stuffs. 

on the other hand, she has sent out about 50 applications to other colleges and universities.  she has had a few interviews, but no offers.  there are a few more left to respond.  she will continue to apply and hope for the best.  if no offer is forth-coming, we will go to brunswick where katie can continue to teach and gain experience.

no matter what, we will be moving.  katie may need to spend some time with her "foster family" again until we can find a suitable living arrangement.  we will find a place as soon as possible and go...where ever.
